Some Ways to Handle Perfectionism:


- accepting that it is a problem
- being compassionate to yourself when things inevitably go wrong
- pushing yourself outside your zone of comfort so that you understand discomfort when you do things that are not your area of expertise
- aiming for 80% rather than 100%; at 80% in most cases is good enough
- focusing on what you can control and realising that things will go wrong
- having tight deadlines so that assignment/car have to be finished quickly.
NB By doing the above, you will find that things are not as bad as you thought.
The only times you need to dig deeply is when the answer really matters and/or the extra work is going to yield a materially better result; otherwise stop digging.
